More about this wine

Ausàs Interpretaciónis a monovarietal Tempranillo wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by Ausàs Bodegas y Viñedos.

Ausàs Bodegas y Viñedos is a winery in Quintanilla de Onésimo, for which Vega Sicilia was the winemaker from 1968 to 1998. Xavier Ausàs has also collaborated with other highly prestigious wineries. He does not have his own vineyards but rather works with people he has known for more than 30 years, so that very high quality grapes can be guaranteed while leaving him free to express the typicity and potential of the Ribera from his point of view.

The vineyards that produce the grapes for Ausàs Interpretación are around 40 years old. Their soils are sandy and clayey-calcareous. The climate of the area is continental. The winery obtains different characteristics from the different plots that allows it to finally produce a complex and harmonious wine. It obtains the floral character in the grapes from the light soils, fruitiness in those from clayey ones, freshness in grapes from high altitude ones and a powerful character in those from calcareous ones.

Ausàs Interpretación is a wine that is aged for 16 months in new and used 225 and 500 litre oak barrels. A total of 20,000 bottles are produced.
