More about this wine

The grapes come from the "Les Lurets" plot in the village, quite close to the village of Meursault, and the soil is a mixture of clay and limestone.

Terroir
Volnay is one of only two villages in the Beaune region that produce red wine. In the era of the Duke of Burgundy, countless noble ladies loved the wine brewed here. With unrestrained and voluptuous floral fragrance, juicy red berries and spices, and velvety fine tannins, it is known as the Côte de Beaune Chambolle Musigny.

Winemaking and Ageing
The grapes are directly pressed after manual picking, and fermented and cultured in oak barrels for 12 months. The maximum proportion of new barrels shall not exceed 25%. Red wine is completely destemmed and cold-soaked in temperature-controlled cement tanks for 3-6 days before fermentation, followed by alcoholic fermentation. After fermentation, it is introduced into wooden barrels for 11 months of aging, with the proportion of new barrels not exceeding 20%. There is no filtration or clarification to maintain a pure and concentrated flavour.
