More about this wine

La Fleur de Lotus was imagined and created by Jean MEYER, upon returning from his first trip to Asia. Naturally, the idea of creating a dry, delicate wine with a spicy aroma, but light in alcohol to pair with Asian and creative cuisines, came to him.
This vintage is a blend of Pinot Auxerrois, Gewurztraminer, Muscat and a touch of Riesling.

Terroir
Around ten small plots on alluvial and gravelly soils located on the plain around Turckheim make up this vintage.
Vinification
The harvest is 100% manual.
Our approach remains traditional. The grapes are pressed whole for about 6 hours in our pneumatic presses. Settling is natural. Fermentation starts spontaneously with the yeasts in the environment in our century-old tuns. For this vintage, we favor fermentation and aging on fine lees.
Before bottling, the wine is filtered. It can be readjusted in sulfur, if necessary, at this time.

Tasting notes

Eye
Green to golden robe.
Nose
This dry wine exudes travel. We find scents of flowers, exotic fruits with all delicacy. It is just a matter of releasing the airy and floral side of the Gewurztraminer without the power and alcohol.
Palate
The fleshy mouth, blossoms on the freshness thanks to the presence of Muscat, then ends with the spice which will tone the finish in a playful and energetic way. Pepper, cardamom and wild herbs rub shoulders with grace.
Serving and Pairing
This wine will go wonderfully with Indian, Asian cuisine r any other dish that emphasises spice. Tomatoes throughout the summer in tarts or antipasti, as well as smoked and marinated fish will make delicious eccentric or refined pairings.
Ideal temperature: 10°C
Drink over 5 to 7 years.
