More about this wine

The light-footed Mandrarossa Grillo Cantine Settesoli shines in the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. This single-varietal Italian wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of lemongrass, grapefruit, kumquats and pink grapefruit in the glass. There are also hints of green bell pepper, juniper and lovage.

The Cantine Settesoli Mandrarossa Grillo is wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from a wine above the 4 euro mark. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily finally delights with good length. Once again, there are hints of grapefruit and pink grapefruit. In the finish, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soil are added.

Winemaking and ageing
The basis for the elegant Mandrarossa Grillo from Sicily are grapes from the Grillo grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Sicily. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly transported to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled. Ageing in oak barrels is followed by a long period of maturation in the bottle, which makes this white wine even more complex.
