The Vintage MAS AMIEL is a delightful indulgence, a burst of fruits that pairs beautifully with sweet and savoury dishes, as well as chocolate. This 100% Grenache is a pure hedonistic pleasure.
Vineyard and Terroir
Vineyard farmed 100% biodynamically. From a plot composed with stony topsoil over shale bedrock in the Deveze area. Shallow soils, with bedrock only 60–80 cm below surface. Southern exposure. Soils are ploughed and compost is applied between the rows. Age of the vines: 15 to 35 years. Average yield: 18 hectolitres per hectare with a density of 3 500 to 4 000 vines per hectare.
Winemaking and Aging
Manual, between the last week of September and the second week of October. The bunches sorted twice manually on a belt and vibrating table. The fruit de-stemmed and slightly crushed. Potential alcohol content 15 to 18 %.
Made in temperature-controlled concrete vats and stainless-steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation at 25° C. Halfway through, a spirit is added (mutage) directly on the fermenting must, the wine is left to macerate on the skins for 15-20 days.
In a reductive environment in a regularly topped up tank for 10 months, then bottled.

Mas Amiel
Mythical Domaine of Roussillon
Founded in 1816, after being won at a card game, Mas Amiel is a historic, biodynamic wine estate in France's Roussillon region, renowned for its fortified sweet wines.
