More about this wine
Less than 100 meters from Château Cheval Blanc, bordered on its left side by Château La Dominique, and behind by Château l’Evangile, the 18-hectare square vineyard forms a magic enclave, where nature has once again taken the stage.
Château Jean Faure shares with its most prestigious peers, the force offered by clay-laden terroirs, where Cabernet Franc draws exceptional energy.
Situated in the heart of the mythical terroir of the first great classified growths, Château Jean Faure’s continuous 18-hectare vineyard is encroached in a magnificent clay terroir, from which cabernet franc draws incredible energy. The practice of a certified organic viticulture - and a conversion toward a biodynamic process - stems from the will to respect the soils, the vines, and the people who with them.
Vatting: Concrete and wooden vats, without sulfites.
Ageing: 35% new oak barrel, 30% 1-year-old-barrel,
20% concrete vats et 15% in 12hl casks

Château Jean Faure
A stone’s throw away from Cheval Blanc
Château Jean Faure is a historic Grand Cru Classé estate in the Saint-Émilion appellation, located near Château Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac. Following a period of neglect, it was revitalized by Olivier Decelle, regaining its Grand Cru Classé status in 2012.
The estate is known for its commitment to organic and biodynamic farming and for producing a unique, Cabernet Franc-dominated blend, which provides the wine with exceptional freshness, structure, and floral aromas.
