More about this wine

The Château Montus Blanc is a highly-rated, full-bodied dry white wine from the Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh appellation in South-West France, known for its complexity, minerality, and significant aging potential. Produced by Alain Brumont, it is a gastronomic wine crafted primarily from the indigenous Petit Courbu grape variety.

Terroir
The vines (around 30 years old) are planted on sloping clay-limestone terraces with rounded pebbles, which provide good drainage and heat diffusion.
Vinification and Aging
The wine undergoes a slow pressing and is fermented and aged on fine lees in 600-liter French oak barrels (demi-muids) for 14 to 15 months. This process, followed by further aging in foudres, imparts subtle, integrated woodiness and a rich texture.

Tasting notes

Eye
Pale yellow with golden highlights.
Nose
Complex bouquet of exotic fruits, citrus oil, dried apricot, honey, ripe peach, and delicate floral notes, with a subtle, well-integrated woodiness.
Palate
Fresh, lively, and full-bodied entry with a nice roundness in the mid-palate, leading to a long, persistent, and mineral finish.

Food pairing
Excellent with sea bass, turbot, river fish, and even caviar. Pairs well with poultry, roast free-range chicken, or other white meats. Complements foie gras, creamy mushroom risotto, or a sea bream tartare with citrus fruits.
Service
Can age until 2039 and beyond.
