More about this wine

This  Pays du Gard wine  interpreted by  Remy Pédreno from the Roc D'Anglade  estate   is certainly one of the best in all of France. It stands out for several aspects. The first is obviously its unique terroir composed of clay, silica and limestone with many large pebbles on the surface. The latter allow the heat accumulated during the day to be returned to the vine. The second is the grape varieties composed of very old Carignan, Syrah and Grenache vines. And the third is obviously the winemaker's know-how. Indeed, Remy Pédreno ages the wine for a long time without adding a woody taste to the wine.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at  Mundovin  : Roc D'Anglade rouge is one of the wines that surprised me the most during blind tastings. A wine that often presents itself very austere in its youth. With time, between 8 and 10 years, it reveals its full potential.  It is a great Languedoc wine  when you know how to be patient. The 18-month aging also plays a large part in the balance and structure of the wine.

Tasting notes

Eye
Ruby red.
Nose

On the nose, the wine is quite intense, with scents of undergrowth, blackcurrant, wild cherry.
After oxygenation, a light touch of liquorice is revealed and a hint of blackberry. We feel a great aromatic complexity that is established throughout the aging in the bottle. At its peak, the wine reveals all its splendor, its race and its delicacy.
Palate

On the palate, the attack is very silky as for all the red wines of the estate, it is its trademark.  A wine of character but all in delicacy . We find slightly candied notes and touches of sweet spices. A great wine of patience.
