Along with Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault forms what is commonly known as the "golden triangle," the heart of the Côte de Beaune, which boasts some of Burgundy's finest Chardonnay terroirs.
Terroir
These specific vineyard sites—Montrachet, Les Perrières, Genévrières, and Charmes, among others—produce some of the world's greatest white wines, grown on hard limestone soils interspersed with marl veins, resulting in an infinite range of nuances. The village of Meursault produces no more than 3% red wine. The Decelle & Fils Meursault comes from a plot on the lower slopes, situated almost flat, bordering Puligny.
Winemaking and Aging
The old vines produce little, and the grapes are always millerandage (uneven ripening) and highly concentrated. Harvested by hand, they are gently pressed, and fermentation begins naturally in oak barrels. To best preserve the characteristic minerality of Meursault Decelle & Fils, we use only 30% new oak barrels and we do not stir the lees.
After 14 months in our cellars, the different barrels are blended for a few weeks, and then the wine is bottled by gravity.

Eye
Pale gold.
Nose
Expect a bouquet of ripe orchard fruits such as pear and apple, accompanied by citrus zest and white floral notes. Earlier vintages often displayed hints of toasted hazelnuts and subtle vanilla from oak aging.
Palate
The palate, beautifully taut, is pure and clean.
Serving
Enjoy it chilled with with asparagus dishes, large fish, and even foie gras.
Will age beautifully for more than 10 years.

Founded in 2008 by renowned winemakers Olivier Decelle and Pierre-Jean Villa, Domaine Decelle & Fils produces elegant, terroir-driven wines from some of Burgundy’s finest appellations. Based in a restored 19th-century cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the estate cultivates 8 hectares of vines, primarily Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown on clay-limestone soils ideal for Burgundy’s signature varieties.
