Just a stone's throw from the Decelle & Fils winery, the Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyard is renowned for producing some of the greatest Pinots in the world. The Nuits-Saint-Georges Decelle & Fils comes from 2 plots, very close to each other, located at the bottom of the village of Nuits, very close to the border with Vosne Romanée.
The 45-year-old vines are planted on complex alluvial soils, rich in clay and iron oxides. This characteristic gives our Nuits-Saint-Georges a powerful, distinguished type that sets it apart from other less well-situated terroirs in the appellation.
100% destemmed, the berries are vinified with the grape's natural yeasts. The vatting lasts about 21 days until the blender master judges the ideal extraction. The wine is then pressed with the greatest care with our pneumatic press and then barreled by gravity with the fine lees. The Nuits-Saint-Georges Decelle & Fils is aged in the cellar in 228-liter oak barrels for a period of 18 months. One third of new barrels.
