More about this wine

Made in a great village in the Côte de Beaune, this wine is produced in a unique environment - in that they only produce red wines. From the very beginnings of vine growing in Burgundy, Pommard was reputed and already qualified as the “flower of Beaune” during the Middle Ages. The vineyards extend across ancient and well-drained alluvial soils, where the concentration of iron oxide reddens the earth.

Eye
This wine is a deep red colour.
Nose
A very expressive nose with great fruit and spiciness with hint of white pepper and Capsicum.
Palate
Aromatic, full of well-ripened fruit, including blueberries and red currants, underscored by discreet and smooth oak. Presence of well integrated tannins, this wine remains tasty thanks to its fleshly and dense structure.
Pairing
It goes perfectly well with grilled red meat or game and is well suited to pairings with strong cheese (epoisse and comté).

Decelle & Fils

Domaine Decelle & Fils was started in 2008 when two distinguished winemakers from other regions of France decided to pool their talents and produce high-quality Burgundy wines. Olivier Decelle is the vigneron behind Mas Amiel in Roussillon, and he also revived Château Jean Faure in Saint-Émilion. Pierre-Jean Villa was part of a boutique Rhône negociant, and he is also a Rhone Valley vigneron. They purchased and restored a historic 19th-century cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges along with about 20 acres of vineyards in various Burgundy locations.

Domaine Decelle & Fils covers 8 hectares of vines, showcasing the finest appellations in the Burgundy region. Composed of 75% Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the vineyard perfectly demonstrates the diversity of terroirs in Burgundy. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils, the optimal environment for the estate's star grape varieties, and are meticulously tended to.

Since 2010, Domaine Decelle & Fils has been unwavering in its commitment to organic farming, aiming to preserve the Burgundy terroir.
